Of all the people I know, I admire my father most. He is short and plain-looking. His dark skin and strong body are results of hard labor. As a farmer, he is a man with many skills, making him known as “Capable man” in our neighborhood. My father is kind and helpful, so our neighbors often turn to him for help whenever they have trouble. It is my father’s capability and personality that makes him my idol. Because to me, an idol is not someone who looks great and achieves huge success but someone whose example I can follow. My father is always inspiring me to move forward steadily and happily. 文章采用了“turn to sb for help 向某人寻求帮助”“As a…作为一个…”“inspire sb to do sth鼓舞某人做某事”等高频短语。 2.It is my father’s capability and personality that makes him my idol.强调句型的使用 3.My father is kind and helpful, so our neighbors often turn to him for help whenever they have trouble.引导的时间状语从句。

For many of us, the real stress begins when a test actually starts. Here are some important ways to manage the stress and do your best on an exam.

Show up on time. Get the test off to the best possible start by getting there on time. 1.. However, arriving too early could give you time to sit there and worry about things.

Stay focused and relaxed. Focused and relaxed? Does that sound impossible? Well, what we mean is this: keep your mind on the test, but don’t tighten up. 2.. If you feel so nervous that you are afraid you might actually snap your pencil in your hand, try that deep-breathing thing for a moment. Then get right back to the test questions.

3.. Don’t worry if you still have some stress while you begin the test. Almost everyone feels this because you want to do your best and get a good grade. The key is to accept it and not let worrying about the stress make you even more stressed.

Read the directions. Take a minute to read the test instructions before you get started. 4.. And you won’t have to waste time going back and redoing any work because you don’t understand the directions.

And finally --- one more important thing. Once the test is over, try not to think about it for a while. Instead of worrying about what grade you might get, reward yourself for making it through the test. Hang out with your friends, or spend an afternoon doing something that makes you happy.5.. And more tests will come along soon. So just enjoy the fact that you’re finished with one!

A. Expect and accept a little bit of stress.

B. You can’t do anything to change your grade now.

C. This will keep you from making simple mistakes.

D. Know ahead of time how many questions there are.

E. Arriving late might make you feel rushed and nervous.

F. After all, you don’t want to spend ten minutes on a super-hard question.

G. Try to stay loose and cool so that you can move through the questions one by one.

The interview

If an employer rates your CV/application form, you’ll be invited to an interview. The general rules of interviews are:

* Dress a little smarter than those who do the job already.

* Turn up on time.

* Greet the person who’s interviewing you by name: “Hi Joe/Mr Smith (depending on which you’d think they prefer), nice to meet you”.

* Tell the truth.
