How to be a safe and smart searcher
Several keywords will help to find better results. 1. If you want to find out about seagulls (海鸥), for example, search for “bird seagull” and not just “seagull”， because seagull might also be the name of anything else, from a hotel to a documentary film.
Exact references can help you find what you're looking for. If you are looking for an exact phrase or sentence, e．g. “seagulls are very clever”， type it between inverted commas (“”) and only exact matches will be shown. 2.
Avoid common words like “a” or “the” in a search. These aren't always helpful and are usually unnecessary.
Remove unwanted results by adding a minus symbol (). For example, “Seagullhotelfilm” would leave out all references to hotels and films.
Check your spelling. Make sure that you spell every word in the search box correctly. 3. That's because sometimes there are mistyped words existing.
Have a filter (筛选程序). It's a good idea to filter your online searchers, especially when you are searching for pictures. Ask an adult to help you add a filtering system. There are lots of filtering software options (可选择的事物) available.

It showed that “test runs at more than 500 restaurants…showed an increase in foot traffic and contributed to a midsingledigit percentage increase in restaurant sales, lifting the 5 to 6 average check by 1, on average.” Customer satisfaction scores also increased, “because families, in particular, appreciate having their food brought to them.”The company also announced the beginning of a new mobile orderandpay app, which would allow customers to order and pay for food from their smart phones.
Mike, a common customer, said, “As a father of two small children, I'm every fastfood chain's target customer. My wife and I try to avoid McDonald's when possible, but like many parents we end up going. I've used the selfserve kiosks and like them a lot: they're easy to use, reduce the pressure of making a choice with impatient customers behind you, and make a big difference in delivery time. I just hope they don't start expecting me to tip.”

“Smombies”—people walking while staring at their smart phones—are very real and a growing cause for concern. Tired of having to constantly alert both locals and tourists to pay more attention to their surroundings to avoid serious accidents, authorities of a small German town have come up with a more positive solution—embedding(嵌入) traffic lights in the pavement to make them visible to people constantly looking down at their phones.
The seemingly ridiculous safety measure was put in place. Authorities in Augsburg decided to act, installing ground level traffic lights at two tram(有轨电车) stops last Tuesday. The lights flash red every time a tram is approaching, or when the regular traffic light turns red. “We realized that the normal traffic light isn't in the line of sight of many pedestrians these days，” said Tobias Hermes, a city administration official. “So we decided to have an additional set of lights—the more we have, the more people are likely to notice them.”
Some Augsburg residents appear to be quite happy with the idea.“I think it makes sense，” Jack Smith said, speaking to The Augsburger All
gemeine. “One always sees young people these days running over red lights. This makes it more obvious that you need to stop.”
Others, however, found the need for ground traffic lights disturbing and even frightening. “I find it scary that smart phone users are so engrossed that they need to install lights in the ground so that they notice the tram coming，” one person told the local paper.
But do this kind of pavementembedded lights actually
work? Well, if one interviewed teenager is to be believed, not really. “To be honest I didn't even notice it，” he told The Augsburger Allgemeine. “Maybe it'd be useful at night, but yeah, I didn't realize it was there until just now.”
The word “smombie”—a mashup of the words smart phone and zombie—was born in Germany. It was voted “youth word of the year” in 2015, but the serious consequences of this behaviour are no laughing matter.

I was sitting in a fast food restaurant with my two children, who at the time were about 6 and 9. Inside there was also a group of teens in Gothic(哥特式的) dress and appearance. Everyone kept away from them inside the restaurant.
Outside the restaurant, people jumped past the homeless man searching the garbage bin, who was looking for food or perhaps a cigarette. I too had rushed past him with my youngsters, refusing his request for money but thinking maybe, just maybe, I would bring him some food. It turned out that I didn't have to.
One girl in the Gothic youth jumped up, went to the counter and ordered more food, which she then took outside to the homeless man and sat on the bench with him, chatting away as he ate. He didn't say much—he was greedy—but I think I saw a bit of a smile and a flash in his eyes as he nodded to her questions.
Writing this now, several years later, I still choke up. That girl was a model citizen living the values of goodness and kindness. These are values I have always held high and hoped to teach my kids. She made my job much easier. We stopped by on our way out and thanked her for setting such a positive example for us. I hope that hearing that has made as much of a difference in her life as seeing what she did has made to ours.
