Develop Better Relationships with Neighbors

Good neighbors are a lot like electricity or running water:we don’t know how much we depend on them until we don’t have them. They make our lives more pleasant and give us a sense of who we wrte, both as an individual and as a member of the community. Here is how to develop your relationships with these very important people in your life.

1._Often neighbors don’t even know each other’s names. But it’s okay to be the one to break the ice , even if you’ve lived next door for years. Most neighbors enjoy making small talk with the folks on the other side of the fence. So as you see them at work in their yards, smile, wave, and say hello. Ask how their kids are (whether they’re babies or in college), whether they could use an extra cucumber from your garden, or what they think of the price at the local supermarket.

2._These days, the old Welcome Wagon is a thing of the past. But your new neighbors maybe feeling lonely and unsure, especially if they’re far from home, and might appreciate a friendly face bearing fresh-baked chocolate cakes. If they have kids, tell them where the children in theneighborhood live. Recommend the best places to eat and sleep. Invite them over for coffee or tea when they get settled, give them your number, and point to your house as you say good-bye.

3._ Return anything that you borrow from a neighbor, such as tools, in good repair and as soon as you’ve finished with them. Replace anything that belongs to your neighbor that you, your children, or your pets break or soil. Make sure that your car is not blocking their doorway. Such random acts of consideration will have your neighbors talking and the talk will be good.

4._If you value a friendship with your neighbors, spend time with them. What better way to meet your neighbors than to invite them to an informal barbecue, pool party, or holiday open house? Better yet, you might even consider throwing a get-together in their honor. Deliver the invitations in person to everyone who lives on your street and chat with each for five minutes before moving on to the next house. This way, you will get an idea of what your neighbors are like so that you can plan for appropriate food and music.

5. In a good relationship, it’s really the little things that count. Help to bring in the mail for the elderly neighbor when there is a heavy rain. When your neighbor forgets to take in his rubbish cans, roll them back into his yard. If you’re truly concerned, you’ll know when your neighbor needs some cheering up a bunch of flowers or a helping hand when it’s needed. All it takes to develop  your relationship with neighbors is the respect for their feelings.

Every single detail of every single thing is the result of someone trying something new. things that didn't work.

Finally, when you make a mistake you are that much closer to success. Why?

Because when all is said and done, you will have tried some finite number of things before you succeed.

4. _

_5._ Quite the contrary, when you try something new you have to be willing to set some reasonable limits so that, in the event that it doesn't work out the way you want it to, you will be in a position to try again.

There is an old axiom that goes, “if you're not making mistakes, you're not trying hard enough.”

B. First of all, mistakes are a clear sign that you are trying new things.

C. Every time you made a mistake you eliminated one of those things and are one step closer.

D. Another good thing about mistakes is this: when you are making mistakes, you are learning.

E. But this all doesn't mean that you should forge ahead with disregard for the consequences of a mistake.

F. Only by embracing and using your mistakes in this way can you make significant advances in your business and your career.

G. Can you imagine how many mistakes were made before all of these individual materials and components were perfected and then assembled into the automobiles we know today?

Are you doing all you can to recycle your rubbish? It only takes a minute to recycle and help reduce waste in your home as well as the costs of waste management.  Here are some ideas to get you started.

Glass containers can be placed in the bottle banks at supermarket car parks throughout the city. Look for the big green bins. 3.

Aluminum cans can earn you cash, so don't just throw them away--save them and save money.  Ring our council to find out when they collect.

1. I thought I might be the only person left in the world who hadn't done an eBay deal. So, I decided to try my hand at online auction(拍卖).

Buying for beginners: Sign up on www. ebay. co. uk. Most items (e. g. tables, computers, and books)ready for auction will come with a picture and a short description; others may be marked with "Buy It Now" and have a fixed price. 2.

If the item is being auctioned, you offer the highest price you are prepared to pay and eBay bids(出价)for you. The bid will be increased little by little until it goes beyond your highest bid, then you are emailed and asked if you would like to bid again. Auctions last up to 10-days and when they finish you get an email

telling you whether you have won the item.

3._: Sellers decide how they would like to be paid and you need to check this before placing a bid as you might not want to post a cheque or postal orders. The easiest way is through PayPal, an online payment system that takes the money away from your credit card.

Selling made simple: If you plan to sell on eBay, it helps to include a picture of the item. 1 followed my friends' advice and put up the items I wanted to sell for a 10-day auction, starting on a Thursday. 4.

The big things in life: It's easy to post a small item, but furniture is a big part of eBay and this has to be collected or sent by deliverymen. 5._

A. How to pay.

B. Pay exact money before buying.

C. You can buy these right away.

D. Make sure the item you want to buy.

E. Everyone's at it, even my neighbors.

F. Check the ways of delivery before you bid.

G. This way buyers had two weekends to bid.
