Living in the City Living in the city has both advantages and disadvantages. It is often easier to find work in the city. The traffic there is very convenient. Besides, there are a lot of interesting things to do and places to go. You can eat in good restaurants, visit museums, watch movies and go to parks whenever you want to relax. However, the cost of living in the city is often very high. You have to find a well-paid job, or you will not be able to afford the things you want to do. What’s more, the city is always crowded, noisy and dirty. It is very difficult to find a good place where people can enjoy both peace and fresh air as in the countryside. 亮点说明: 范文使用了非谓语动词Living in the city...;让步状语从句whenever you want to relax;定语从句you want to do,where people can enjoy both peace and fresh air等语法知识,使作文句式多样,表达更生动、形象; 范文使用Besides, However, or, What’s more等来衔接前后句和前后段,使作文语意连贯、衔接紧凑。 考点:材料类作文

I love camping. Its my favorite way to spent the summer vacation. Last year, my family and I went camping in the countryside. It was one of the most excited experiences I had never had. We slept in a tent and went for a long walk every day. We cook over a fire and the food always tasted wonderfully. For a whole week, I saw lovely mountain views or breathed fresh air. At the night, I heard the gentle wind blowing in the tree, and I felt so peaceful. It doesnt cost many to camp, and I believe its the best way to get close nature and enjoy its beauty.

Do you know what Street Sense is? Its a newspaper in Washington D.C. about homeless people and problems that affect them. Homeless, or formerly homeless, Washingtonians write many of the articles. The newspapers business model is based on homeless sellers who sell the newspaper. You can hear them call out Street Sense for sale! near subway entrances, lunch places and other areas around the city.

The Street Sense newspaper is housed in an office in a Christian church in Washington. Every other Wednesday about fourteen thousand copies are printed. The newspaper expresses the thoughts and experiences of people who call the streets home.

Four staff members work at Street Sense and two of them are paid. The staff members write the first two pages of the paper. Interns--students working as part of their studies--and volunteers help. Homeless writers provide the rest of the material. This includes poems, stories and essays.

Street Sense provides training for the homeless people who want to become part of the sales team. After the training, each student is given ten free copies of Street Sense. Once those are sold, trainees become real salespeople. They buy papers for thirty-five cents each and sell them for a dollar.
