Some experts feel that the automobile is...

Some experts feel that the automobile is to “die”. They see a day in the nottoodistant future when all autos will be abandoned and allowed to become rotten iron and steel rubbish. __1.__ They think that the car will remain a leading means of urban travel in the near future.

_2._ It should become smaller, safer, and more moneysaving, and should not be powered by the petrol engine. The car of the future should be far more pollutionfree than present types.

Regardless of its power source, the auto in the future will still be the main problem in urban traffic jam. _3._

When the auto enters the freeway system, a retractable arm, which can be moved inwards or backwards, will drop from the auto and touch a rail that is similar to the subway trains electrically powered from the system, and control of the vehicle will pass to a central computer. 4._

The driver will use a telephone to dial instructions about his destination into the system. The computer will calculate the best route, and reserve space for the car all the way to the correct exit from the freeway. _5._ It is guessed that an automated freeway will be able to handle 10,000 vehicles per hour, compared with the 1,500 to 2,000 vehicles that can be carried by a presentday freeway.

AOther authorities, however, think the auto is here to stay.

BThe computer will then monitor all of the car's movements.

COne proposed solution to this problem is the automated freeway system.

DExperts have different views on what role autos will play in the near future.

EThe motorcar will undoubtedly change significantly over the next 30 years.

FDrivers in the freeway system can sit back and do nothing but control the direction.

GThe driver will then be free to relax and wait for the sound speaker that will warn him of his coming exit.

Last Tuesday, the Students' Union in our school advised that Senior Three students shall do something specially for their parents on their 18th birthdays. All the students are active in responding it and most of them have come up with their ideas. Some choose to write a letter saying it's best way to express their appreciations as well as love for their parents. Others will prefer to cook a big meal to show that they've already grown up.

As for me, I want to do up hair and wash feet for my parents. By doing which my parents have been doing for me I can really know how much they've devoted to bring me up. Being 18 years old mean that we should learn to be independent and that we should be responsible for us.

Music and songs play a important part in our daily life. For example, it can bring us pleasure and make us happy. Besides, they can help us improve our study and working efficiency. I fond of listening to songs and music very much, but my favorite song is Country Road. The lyrics and music bring me into a beautiful world in that I am loved and cared by Grandma. What's more, they make me think of my wonderful childhood was spent in my hometown and I can still remember the game played with my young fellow. In a word, once enjoying, the song will never be forgotten.

Nuclear energy has always been controversial. But since the tsunami and nuclear disaster in Fukushima(Japan) in 2011, the issue is back in the headlines. And the world is divided—some countries are planning more nuclear plants, while others have promised to shut theirs down.

After Fukushima, Germany decided to switch off all its nuclear plants by 2022. __1.__ In fact, almost 80% of France's electricity comes from nuclear power, the highest percentage in the world. And in the US, the Obama administration said it “continues to support the expansion of nuclear power, despite the crisis in Japan.”

Nuclear supporters claim nuclear power can help the environment. 2.__ So, pronuclear countries argue that nuclear power allows them to generate energy without contributing to climate change. Britain's chief scientific adviser(John Beddington) supports this view.

Nuclear power is also relatively cheap. Renewable energy sources such as solar, hydro and wind power may be clean, but they're expensive; and right now, they require a lot of investment. _3.__ So, while many people may prefer their energy to come from a renewable source, not so many are prepared to pay higher energy bills.

4.__ For a start, nuclear waste is very difficult to dispose of, and remains toxic to humans for thousands of years. And even before Fukushima, there were several highprofile nuclear disasters. The most famous is probably the 1986 Chernobyl disaster, in the Ukraine. The radiation from the meltdown spread all over Europe, affecting thousands of people.

The nuclear energy issue is very complex. _5._ As a Japanese commentator recently said, “It's been a bad year for the ‘nuclear village’but I don't think they're down and out yet.” The battle continues.

AAnd it doesn't look like it'll be resolved anytime soon.

BThe main argument against nuclear energy is that it isn't safe.

CNuclear power could only end the world instead of saving it!

DMany people believe that they will benefit from the unclear energy.

EUnlike fossil fuels, nuclear power doesn't create greenhouse gases.

FBut France and the United States remain loyal supporters of atomic energy.

GThis higher cost of using “green energy” is usually passed onto the consumer.
