Life is filled with regrets(遗憾). Anyone around you will have no difficulty in telling his regrets. As we get older, we look back and wish that we had made better choices. What can we do to avoid future regrets?
Make better plans
If you start to do something, you need to make a plan before doing it. The earlier, the better. You will know what comes first and what comes last. You’ll also know what you should do and what you shouldn’t do. If changes happen, you can have more time to deal with them.
Live a more active life
You can go around more often. More outdoor activities can keep you relaxed and active. You also need to be kind. “Thank you”can bring a smile to someone’s face. Learn to say“sorry”and don’t be angry with others.
Find the right friend
A friend may make your life and he or she can break your life as well. So you have to think twice when you choose a friend. Good friends will always better your ideas.
When you get into trouble, ask friends for help. That little help may get you good results.
Never fear failure
Everybody fails. Even the greatest person failed. We should not fear failure, because failure is not the end of the road. We must take failure as a chance to learn and improve ourselves.
Life is good. We don’t have to live in our past, but we do hope that we can plan better, live better, and work better when we have the chance to do so.

On the first day of the New Year 2017,I made up my mind to go to Thailand to teach English as a volunteer. At the beginning, all I cared about was travelling and seeing the world. I didn’t know how fantastic my life would be in the coming months!
My journey began with attending TESOL certification(认证) course in my home state of Florida last February. After 3 weekends of study and another 40 hours’ study online, I received my TESOL certificate(证书).
I was asked to contact Philip, who is Program Director of the Teach in Thailand. After discussing with Philip,I chose my school and after many months of excitement,I finally flew to Thailand in early April and I couldn’t wait to explore the country!
After a few weeks of travel alone,I met up with Philip and the other new teachers in my program in Bangkok. It was great to meet other people who were on the same journey as me,see some cool sights and walk in Thailand’s cities! After that, I attended the weeklong seminar(研讨会). At the end of the seminar, I was transported to my school—Anuban Buriram Primary School.
I truly love my job—I teach Grades 5 and 6 and I have the cleverest and most active kids in the world. It’s a truly fantastic thing that you can see the difference you make in someone else’s life, right in front of you!
Buriram is a small city with green rice fields. People here are more friendly than anyone I’ve ever met—I’ve never been anywhere where a smile is so easily received, where everyone you pass is so friendly to say “Hello” and “Good morning”. I’ve been taken out to countless dinners, and been lent a guitar,a camera, and I am given Thai treats and the most delicious fresh fruits many times a week. I only hope to repay(回报) them in the future.

These days haze(雾霾)is around us here and there. In fact, everyone has the power to change their living habits to help reduce it. Many local governments call on their people to take action to make the air cleaner.
Transport is one of the biggest contributors(促成物)to haze. When, where, how, why and what you drive all affect air quality. When one drives to work for one year,he uses as much energy as a bus rider uses in 10 years. So walk or ride your bicycle to work or school whenever possible. If it is necessary, you can use public transport instead of your car. Each person using public transport for a year instead of a car can save nearly a tonne of pollutants, including CO2,from going into the atmosphere.
Carpooling is another way to reduce carbon emissions(排放).Carpooling is the sharing of car journeys so that more than one person travels in a car. It immediately reduces your car’s emissions by half.
What you do inside your living space can have a big effect on the air quality outside it. You can do a lot of things inside and around your home that will help you pollute less and save some money.
A large amount of our energy supply comes from burning coal, another contributor to haze. By cutting down your electricity use,you are cutting down on haze. So you may try to reduce your use of electricity by turning off lights, using your air conditioner wisely during the summer months,or updating some of your electrical appliances to low-energy models. For example, you can use energy-saving lamps that require less energy and last 10 times longer than common bulbs.
