Levels Learn English Kids has lots of different activities for children aged 6—12 who are learning English around the world. To help you find the right activities, we have three levels on our site. Level 1 activities are most suitable (适合) for children who can understand and use some words and short phrases, and can follow simple stories, songs and texts. Level 2 activities are most suitable for children who can understand and use words and sentences in common topics and situations. Level 3 activities are most suitable for children who can understand and use rich languages and can follow difficult stories, including some texts for English native (当地的) speakers. Children can use the levels as a guide. For example, if they start to find level 1 activities too easy, they can move on to level 2 activities. However, all children learn differently, so children can try activities from different levels at any time, especially if it is a topic they enjoy. Our Resources page will help you find activities at different levels. You can also search by topics. |

The Mayos, two young brothers named Will and Charlie Mayo lived in Rochester, Minnesota. Both of them became doctors after their graduation from medical school.
One summer day on their way back home, the sky was growing dark. Everything was strangely quiet. “Look!” Will pointed. “A tornado(龙卷风)!” Luckily, they were not hurt. But many people got injured. As soon as possible, the Mayos turned the town hall into an emergency hospital. They helped the injured people as much as they could.
After the tornado ended, the brothers realized that there were things they didn't know. “ Why don't you and I take turns traveling?” said Will to Charlie. “One of us can stay and look after our patients. The other can visit the best hospitals and doctors in the world. That way we can keep learning and be better doctors.”
From that time on, the Mayos traveled the world, learning about medicine in turn. Soon they became well known around their area. They published over 1, 000 papers in medical magazines. Even though they were successful, they were never interested in honor(荣誉). Neither one thought he was more important than his brother. Whenever one of them was chosen for an honor, he would accept the honor with the same four words, “My brother and 1....”.
“One nice thing about sharing knowledge,” Charlie once said, “is that after you give it to someone else, you still have it!” If you do choose to give something to someone else, or accept what others give to you, you may discover that sharing makes you feel happy, just as the Mayo brothers did.

It was an early morning, a morning so peaceful,
The kind of morning that was inviting me with a warm arm.
So I decided to spend an hour doing almost nothing,
Sitting and enjoying the best of what nature could bring.
Getting up from my chair, I thought I'd take a walk,
Then there was a bee that suddenly came to me for a talk.
There was a kind of music as the bee moved its wing,
Music so perfect that no one could ever sing.
Walking little further, I saw a butterfly,
Which was dancing among the flowers and then flying high.
My morning hour in the garden was very well spent,
And now I know what beauty and music really meant!!
