读下文并回答问题

It's true that studying abroad can help students develop themselves. Their foreign Language will be improved and it will be easier to find jobs.

But there are problems that should be considered (考虑). Language is the first. Students must spend a lot of time learning another language.

Students must also learn to live without parents' care and deal with all kinds of things they haven't had to do before looking after themselves. There are reports about Chinese students abroad meeting with lots of difficulties and giving finally. When they have to take care of themselves, it is hard for students to study well.

Finally studying abroad brings a heavy burden (负担) to the family. For most Chinese parents, the cost of studying abroad is very high. But is it worth?

1.Does the writer think it is good for everybody to study abroad?

2.How many things should be considered if one wants to study abroad?

3.Why is Tu Youyou talked about here?

4.Do you think It Is necessary for you to study abroad? Why or why not?

1.No, he doesn’t. 2.Three things should be considered. 3.Because she is talked about here to support the author’s idea. 4.No, I think it is not necessary, because I can study in China. 【解析】 本文讲述了是否必须出国。出国留学确实可以帮助学生发展自己。他们的外语水平会提高,找工作也会更容易。但也有些问题应该考虑。语言是第一位的;学生也必须学会生活没有父母的照顾;出国留学带来了沉重的负担;在中国有很多通过自己的努力获得成功的名人。所以出国前多多考虑。 1.句意:作者认为出国留学对每个人都有好处吗? 定位至第二段“But there are problems that should be considered (考虑)”,不难发现作者认为出国留学依然有许多问题需要考虑。故答案为No, he doesn’t. 2.句意:如果一个人想出国留学,应该考虑多少事情? 定位至第2、3、4自然段,根据“Language is the first”,“Students must also learn to live without parents' care and deal with all kinds of things they haven't had to do before looking after themselves.”,“Finally studying abroad brings a heavy burden (负担) to the family.”,所以是三件事需要被考虑,故答案为Three things should be considered. 3.句意:为什么这里会提到屠呦呦? 根据“But is it worth? We know that there are many famous people who succeed in great things through their hard work in China.”所以作者觉得不出国也不一定不能成功,故答案为Because she is talked about here to support the author’s idea. 4.句意:你认为有必要出国留学吗?为什么或为什么不? 本题是开放性试题,言之有理即可。故答案为No, I think it is not necessary, because I can study in China.

Language students often think they have memory problems. They worry because they can’t remember words. In fact, the problem usually isn’t with their memory. The problem is with how they study.

To remember word better, you need to understand how memory works. There are two kinds of memory: short-term and long-term. When you see, hear or read something. It goes first into short-term memory. But short-term memory lasts for only a few seconds. You will only remember something longer if it goes into long-term memory. Your long-term memory is like a very big library with many, many books. And like a library, it's organized. When you put away a book-or memory- you can’t just leave it anywhere. You have to choose a place where you can find it again.

How can you do this with vocabulary? The answer is to work with the word and think about the word in new ways. You can do this by writing new sentences that include it. Even better, you can invent a little story about the word, with people or places that you know. Another way is to make a picture in your mind with the word. For example, if the word is “height”, you can think of the tallest person you know and try to guess his or her height. All of these activities are good ways to think about words. They make the meaning of words stronger in your long-term memory. And they give a way to find a word when you need it.
