Have you heard of the story of Maher Teresa? She was born on August 27.1910 in Yugoslavia. When she was nineteen years old, she was sent to India to work for the poor as a nurse. From then on, she never left this country. Her dream in life was, to serve the sick and the poor, and she spent the whole life on this dream.
Her workplace was called Calcutta, the largest city In India. She was busy giving food and shelter to the poor in the dirty streets of Calcutta day and night. When she arrived in Calcutta, she had little money left and was helped by a priest. She lived in a small room for 9 years, and she nursed the sick ones back to health there.
She did her best to help the poor. Because of her hard work, Mother Teresa was given the Nobel Prize in 1979. Mother Teresa was a kind mother of so many poor kids. In September 1997, Mother Teresa passed away and was remembered by the people all over the world.
