1.

And why do we have them? Scientists are learning to find the reasons, but they still know

very little about why we dream.

2.

Modern research can tell us some important facts about dreams. For example, we have most of our dreams during REM sleep. At this time, the brain is very active. Another fact is that everyone dreams-even if we cannot remember doing so when we're awaken. What's more, an unusual part of our brain has been found. This part sometimes puts our thoughts and memories together in strange ways when we're asleep.

3.

Some scientists believe that our dreams are associated with life experiences and things in the dreams have their own meanings. For example, telephones in dreams are thought to be about giving or receiving an important message. A car in dreams often mean feelings about your own life. Broken teeth show fear.

4.

Scientists think that people in our dreams can tell us something about ourselves. If the person in the dream was shouting out, for example, maybe you are angry. If he or she was scared in the dream, then maybe you’re afraid of something in life.

5.

There is still a lot that we do not understand, but scientists are trying hard because the more we learn about our dreams, the more we learn about ourselves.

A.What're the meanings of the things in dreams?

B.What can persons in dreams tell us?

C.Why should we learn more about dreams?

D.What facts do we know about dreams?

E.What are dreams?

About 30 years ago, China was known as the "Bicycle Kingdom". But the two-wheeled mode(方式) of transport's popularity began to disappear Many bikes were soon replaced by their fuel-powered competitors. But recent months, we have seen a revival of bikes across China. An increasing number of people choose cycling instead of driving to schools, to workplaces or to do sightseeing. The introduction of bike-sharing project, which was firstly started by newly set up companies like Ofo and Mobike, has brought the popularity to a new level.

According to the data, the first week of this year saw 5.85 million active users of Mobike while Ofo had l.4 million active users. People can unlock the shared bikes by simply using their smart phones. The bikes are equipped with GPS and can be left anywhere in public for the next user. They're popular among many Chinese people because they provide an effective solution to the "last mile" problem, which people have to walk to their destinations in the last part of their journeys.

Now, Chinese service operators are also trying to solve these problems. For example, Mobike sets a100-point credit(信用) score for each user. The points will be taken if there is bad behavior. I was feeling really down because my long-time friend had died. Then I started a six-week volunteering at a nursing home all day even Saturday. My duty was to serve the meal and clean up. One day I was told to go to Room 117 to make sure the patient was all right. I found a boy of eight sitting in bis bed watching a movie. I was shocked to see a child in this seemingly forgotten nursing home for the old. He was so small and weak that you had to look closely to find him. I grabbed his medical chart and found out :he had a terminal(绝症的) illness.

We started to talk, and I found out that his family rarely visited, and all he did every day was watching TV I wanted to cry for him, and for my lost friend. As we talked, he had a smile on his face, and I asked him why and how he still managed to stay happy.

He thought for a moment, and then said that too many people were dead even before they died. They walked around feeling that God had cursed(诅咒) them and they had nothing to live for.The boy said that he would not be like that. He woke 'every morning thankful to see another sunrise. He kept his window open so that he could smell the flowers and feel the heat of the sun

He also said that he had hope."Too many people haven't seen much of that around here." He said, "Life is full of hope and we need to live life before it is gone."I don't know what happened to him. I guess he passed away, but his lesson lives on. I now wake up and live each day to the fullest. The key to life is not money or fame, but the lesson we learned from it.
