A group of frogs were traveling through the woods, and two of them fell into a deep hole. When the other frogs saw how deep the hole was, they told the two frogs that they were hopeless to be alive. Before the invention of the postage stamp, it was difficult to send a letter to another country.  The sender paid for the letter to travel in his or her own country. 1. If a letter crossed several countries, the problem was worse.
