On March 15, many people in the UK wore a plastic red nose. It wasn’t just for fun. They were also raising money to fight poverty (贫穷) in the UK and Africa.
This day is called Red Nose Day. It is a huge charity event in the UK every other year. On this day, people do something funny for money. Besides Red Nose Day, there are many other creative ways to help people in need around the world.
Many charity organizations run charity shops in Western counties. The shops sell second-hand goods donated by the public such as books and clothes. Many young people love these shops.
