What will the house of the future look like? Could it have gardens on its walls, or a pool with fish for dinner? Architects believe that they are all possibilities. The only thing for sure is that the houses will be as green as possible.

The tree house

Many architects in the world would like to build a “tree house.” Like a leaf, the surface of the house collects sunlight during the day. The energy can be used to heat water, produce electricity, and even create fresh air for the home. The “root” () of the house is deep under the ground. It uses the soil (土壤) to the home’s temperature.

The Lizard house

Like a lizard (蜥蜴), changing color with the weather is the most important design of a lizard house. When it’s in the bright sun, the cover of the house will turn dark to protect it from strong heat. During dark days, it turns white and takes in as much light and heat as possible to produce energy.

Meals at home

This design is perhaps as much about the future of food production as architecture (建筑风格). It has gardens on the outside wall of the house. People can plant tomatoes, carrots and green tea on them. So every day in the morning, you just need to walk outside and collect your meals.

Learning from the past

Looking to the future isn’t the only way to be green. Sometimes, ancient techniques (古老的技术) can also help cut down energy use. For example, a chimney (烟囱) can be a useful air conditioner because it is easier of hot air to flow out at the chimney.

We cannot remember clearly since when we have started to take our mobiles to a dinner table. This happens a lot, especially when we eat out. Once a dish comes, instead of lifting our chopsticks, we take out our mobiles and click (咔哒). Later, we post the photos onto microblog or WeChat, waiting to be liked. Then we check our mobiles from time to time during the meal to see whether we get “liked” or not. We just cannot leave our mobiles for only a meal.

Does that sound familiar (熟悉的) to you? Do you do that often? If not, how do you feel when others do that when having dinner with you?

A recent study suggests that what we are used to doing is not that good. Spending time taking photos of food makes the food less satisfying. To test this, some researchers did an experiment. Some people were asked to take photos before they could enjoy food. It turned out that the more photos they took, the less delicious the food seemed to them. So, why not stop taking photos and just enjoy the food in front of you?

Besides the scientific result, there are also some other bad influences of taking photos of food before meals. After posting the photos onto the internet, one will involuntarily (不自觉地) check his mobile many times. “Does everyone like my photos? I hope a lot of people like them!” It seems like your mobile secretly calls your name all the time, even when you are with real people.

So, next time you go out to have dinner with your family or friends, how about not taking photos of food?  Let the food be delicious as it is and share your life with people around you. Trust me. It will be a wonderful time.

1.What happens a lot at the dinner table nowadays         ?

A.People talk about their microblogs or WeChat.

A.The reasons for checking your mobiles.

B.The ways of posting the photos onto the internet.

C.The tips of making others like your photos on the microblog.

D.Other bad influences of taking photos before meals.

4.What does the writer think of taking photos of food         ?

A.Funny B.Helpful C.Necessary D.Unacceptable

5.What can we learn from the passage         ?

A.Remember to have dinner with our family and friends at home.

B.Forget the photos and enjoy the life with people around us.

C.Take photos of delicious food and share them with others

D.Take photos of food in order to have a wonderful life.

Everyone worries. But what do you deal with your worries? Whether your worries are big or small, you can take three steps to deal with them.

1.Try to find out what you're worried about

Sometimes you will know what you worry about. But sometimes you might not. If you can’t make sure what your worries are, you will have more and more problems in your life. So it’s necessary for you to try to find out the reason first even though it’s not so easy.

2.Think of ways to make it better

There is always something you can do to help you feel less worried. If you only sit there and wait, you can’t solve your problem.

Have I tried different ways of studying?

If your worry is about a scuffle with your best friend, you might write a note to him or her, invite him or her to a basketball game and say sorry to him or her. If you do something like that, you can get your friend back easily and won’t fight with him or her again.
