To reach your full potential (潜力), you should live like a sportsperson. To live like a sportsperson, you need to have the following things.
A goal. Sportspersons know exactly what they are trying to achieve. They have a goal and work towards achieving it. Similarly, you need to have a goal. You need to have a purpose in your life. In fact, I believe that this is the starting point. It will drive the other parts of your life.
Discipline (纪律). Sportspersons are disciplined in their training. They have to do certain things whether they feel like it or not. Similarly, you need discipline in completing your tasks. Discipline will make you do what you need to do.
A coach. A sportsperson needs a coach to reach his potential. The coach will help him know what to do and get him back on track (重新步入正轨) if necessary. Also, if the situation changes, the coach will come up with a new plan for him. Similarly, having a mentor (导师) will help you reach your goals faster. It might not be easy to find a mentor in real life, but you can learn from virtual (虚拟的) mentors. By reading their books and watching their interviews, you’ll know what advice they would give to you.
Supporters. Just like a sportsperson needs supporters, you also need supporters. These are people who encourage you to keep going in difficult times. These are people who believe in you no matter what happens. Having supporters can make a big difference.
Live like a sportsperson, and you will be on your way to reaching your full potential.

I'm often asked the question “How did you become a reporter?” You see, everybody expected me to follow in my father's footsteps and become a doctor. Well, during my last year of school I visited a career counsellor (职业顾问) named Lisa and I drove her crazy with my choices.
My first choice was a chocolate taster. Although Lisa didn't know the job well, she got me some information about it. I discovered that chocolate tasters make a lot of money, so I was sure I had found my dream job. However, when I found out that chocolate tasters don't just sit around eating chocolate all day, I lost my interest.
Next, I thought of becoming a football referee (裁判). I had loved football from a young age, but being a professional footballer was out of the question, as I couldn't play very well. However, it seems that referees must be able to run two and a half miles in less than twelve minutes and they are required to take exams throughout their training. So, my dream of becoming a referee died.
Finally, I had this idea of becoming a dog stylist (造型师). That was after I realized how much money our dog stylist, Shirley, was being paid. However, once, while she was styling Philipo, I noticed that he tried to bite (咬) her. “It happens all the time,” she told me. As you can imagine, that really put me off.
To cut a long story short, all this research made me realize I had a talent for investigation (调查), so by the end of the school year I had decided to become a reporter.

Papua New Guinea is the eastern part of the island of New Guinea. It has a population of just over eight million. The capital is Port Moresby. The country became independent from Australia in 1975. There are over 800 languages in Papua New Guinea. That's more languages than in any other country in the world.
Papua New Guinea is a land of mountains and rainforests. Most communities have little contact with each other or with the outside world. It's for this reason that so many different languages have developed.
The official (官方的) languages of Papua New Guinea are Tok Pisin, English and Hiri Motu. Although English is an official language, it is only spoken as a first language by a small percentage of the population.
Tok Pisin is spoken by most people. It is an English-based creole. The word “tok” comes from the English word for “talk” and means “word” or “speech”.
“Pisin” means “pidgin”. A pidgin language is one which is a mixture of two other languages, while a creole is a pidgin language that has become the mother language of a community. Tok Pisin started as a pidgin language and became a creole language.
Although the majority (大多数) of Tok Pisin vocabulary (词汇) comes from English, it also includes words from German, Portuguese, Latin and a number of other languages.
Tok Pisin is sometimes used in the first three years of primary school in Papua New Guinea, while English is used in secondary education.
