Six volunteers are about to find out what it would be like to live on Mars without ever leaving the Earth. To make it more like being on Mars in the future, they are only able to communicate by email during the experiment. Before I studied psychology, I used to think that people would laugh when funny things occurred. While I was right about that, I discovered there are lots of other psychological factors that make people laugh other than the funny part of a joke.
