When we talk about how teenagers are getting worse and worse now, most young people don’t agree. Teenagers always say they are growing up. They can have part-time jobs. They can drive cars. And they can even get married when they’re a little bit older.
Their parents say, “Our children are very good. They like pop music, but they play it in their own rooms. They help with the housework at home. You know they feel bored sometimes because there’s nothing interesting in the neighborhood, no clubs and no sports. They have nothing to do.
A teacher says that he believes most young people are very kind. He thinks that it’s not bad for young people to like loud music because it can give them lots of energy and make them feel excited .Also, a lot of young people work very hard at school, and they can get good jobs later.
Lewis, a sixteen-year-old boy said, “I have passed all my examinations, but I can’t get a part-time job because older people always think I’m lazy.”

It was one of the hottest days of the dry season. There was no rain for almost a month. The crops were dying. Cows stopped giving milk. On this day, I witnessed (目睹) a wonder.
I was making lunch when I saw my 6-year-old son, Billy, walking very slowly towards the woods. Minutes later he came running out again, towards the house. Soon after, I saw him walking towards the woods again. This went on for an hour. Finally I walked out of the house quietly and followed him.
Billy cupped (笼成杯形) both hands in front of him as he walked, careful not to drop the water he carried. Then I saw an amazing sight. Several large deer stood in front of him. Now I understood what was going on. The week before, he tried giving water to our horses but I told him not to waste water. Now when he stood up and turned, I was there in front of him. His eyes filled with tears (眼泪). “I’m not wasting,” he said. I joined him with a small cup of water from the kitchen. I let him walk to the baby deer alone while I stood by the woods. Tears rolled down my face. Suddenly there were some drops falling, as if the sky itself was crying.
